iMentor joined NYC Service for the Women Forward NYC Women’s Day mentorship summit, connecting high school girls with inspiring women leaders. iMentor Chief External Officer Ellen Moncure Wong and her mentee Gaia Gamboa Arzate shared how mentorship is about showing up—for each other, our communities, and the next generation. With leaders like First Deputy Mayor Maria Torres-Springer, Schools Chancellor Melissa Aviles-Ramos, and NYC Chief Equity Officer Sideya Sherman, the summit highlighted the power of mentorship in unlocking opportunities for young women. As the largest mentoring organization partnering with NYC Public Schools, iMentor is proud to champion mentorship that empowers the next generation to thrive.

We're excited to share that last week ten of our students from INFOTECH High School, along with their principal, participated in their second annual visit to City Hall. During the visit, students had the opportunity to meet with Education Chair Rita Joseph and their district representative, CM Julie Won. Following their meetings, the students were honored at the City Council Stated Meeting, where Speaker Adams personally presented and thanked them for their engagement and involvement. These moments are incredibly special as they provide students with a firsthand look at how government functions, while also showing them their role within it and how they can shape their futures. #imentor #mentorshipmatters #cityhall #nyc

Eva Gutowski, a YouTuber and actress with over 11 million subscribers, recently visited Marble Hill High School for International Studies to share her journey from high school to college. She spoke about her experiences with financial aid and how she built her YouTube career while balancing college life. At this event, Eva highlighted how studying communications, joining debate clubs, and participating in public speaking helped shape her career. She emphasized that going to college gave her the skills and confidence to grow her platform and turn content creation into a full-time profession. The students, many of whom are longtime fans of her videos, were excited to hear firsthand how she combined education with her passion to build a successful career.
