Naima Savage is a dedicated coach and facilitator with deep roots across the South. A seasoned organizer, she has helped workers challenge corporations like Nissan, McDonald's, and Walmart. Raised in North Carolina, Naima’s journey has shaped her observant and conscious approach to leadership. Having personally experienced the value of coaching and support in her own development, Naima is passionate about offering that same guidance to others as they grow and lead in their own communities. Naima is also the co-director and lead faculty of Ignite the South ( https://lnkd.in/eFzg4EbH ) a program that empowers emerging social justice leaders in the Southern United States. Through a six-month cohort, ITS provides participants with retreats, coaching, and online learning to deepen their skills and offer support in movement leadership, and community organizing. With Naima's guidance, the program helps leaders strengthen their capacity to lead with authenticity, fostering connections across a multi-racial, multi-movement network of activists committed to systemic change in the South. By drawing on Southern history and its impact, Ignite the South nurtures a new generation of leaders dedicated to justice. Join us in celebrating Naima Savage and the transformative impact she’s making as a coach, facilitator, organizer and mama of two brilliant boys. Naima’s work is ensuring that emerging leaders are equipped with the tools and support they need to create lasting impact in their communities. #BlackLeader #SocialJustice #IgniteTheSouth #Coaching #Organizing #MovementBuilding #CommunityImpact #Equity #Justice #CapacityBuilding #AuthenticLeadership #TransformativeChange

https://lnkd.in/eFQ8zGjX Read below about the amazing leadership of Yamani Hernandez at Groundswell Fund and their journey to signing their first union contract. Beyond Neutrality is a program designed to support nonprofit leaders in navigating unionization from a pro-union, anti-racist, and mission-driven perspective. Housed in Imagine Us, Beyond Neutrality provides hands-on support, values-aligned tools and practices, and peer communities at each stage of the process. Groundswell leaders and staff have a lot to be proud of.
As part of Communications Workers of America, Groundswell Workers United (GWU), Groundswell Fund, and Groundswell Action Fund are thrilled to announce Groundswell's first (and groundbreaking) CBA! Unionization is happening across the nonprofit sector. This type of transformation comes with learning opportunities, challenges, and ample bright spots. Pro-union management approaches beyond neutrality are being developed and built into Groundswell’s organizational culture. Our goal is to be a sector model on how the unionization process can be a valuable tool in living our values. Groundswell is a proud pro-worker and pro-union organization! #ProUnion #GroundswellFund #GroundswellActionFund #CBA

This beautiful and talented facilitation team just finished a staff retreat in San Diego, where they led a group of forty [ten virtual] in a celebration of their first union collective bargaining agreement, restorative practices [yoga on the beach!], courageous conversations, and reaching valuable goals for the retreat. They brought the fun, the grace, and the chops to hold the container this group needed. Thank you, Michelle, Miki, and Flavia!

Some of us at Imagine Us got together this week to talk about the future and its implications for the social justice ecosystem, the people within it, and our work in support of them. Being in a relationship with a group of brilliant, grounded, and caring people made these potentially heavy discussions more hopeful and exciting! We grappled with the sticky parts and generated good ideas along with the laughter and excellent doodles. More to come.
