As #WomensHistoryMonth continues, we are spotlighting ITW colleagues committed to fostering inclusive workplaces where all team members feel valued. Today, Emily Fraser, manufacturing engineer at ITW Electronic Assembly in Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA, reflects on her ITW experience and what the month means to her. Q: This year’s International Women’s Day theme was #AccelerateAction. In what ways do you resonate with this theme? A: It touches on the importance of taking decisive, quick steps to further gender equality. This is deeply important to me because I want to ensure that the next generation of women have as many opportunities as possible. By breaking down barriers and fostering inclusion, we can create a world where girls know no limit to what they can achieve or become. That is the kind of world I want for my little sister and any other young girls growing up. It is our collective responsibility to make sure that the next generation grows up in a society that values and uplifts them. Q: How have you celebrated International Women’s Day and Women’s History Month? A: I have many great examples in both my professional and personal life of what it means to be an empowered woman. Throughout the month, I have taken the opportunity to thank the women role models in my life. Their dedication, strength and contributions make a huge impact on myself and others around them, so it's important to acknowledge and celebrate all that they do. It may be a simple form of appreciation, but recognition and kindness can go a long way. Q: Who has had a positive impact on your life and how did they help shape you? A: My mom. Growing up, she always stressed how strong, capable and incredible women are. I never heard phrases in our house like "throw like a girl." Instead, she always encouraged me to chase my dreams and speak up for myself. I am incredibly thankful for her, and I want to do for other women what she has done for me. #ProudToBeITW #IWD25

In celebration of #WomensHistoryMonth, we are spotlighting ITW colleagues committed to fostering inclusive workplaces where all team members feel valued. Today, Jozefa ?ebeková, senior human resources officer and payroll administrator at ITW Air Management in Slovakia, reflects on her ITW experience and what the month means to her. Q: The theme for International Women's Day was #AccelerateAction. In what ways do you resonate with this theme? A: Accelerate Action really speaks to me, particularly in creating a workplace where everyone is included, appreciated and provided opportunities to grow. Being part of ITW Women's Network, I feel a sense of responsibility to create equal opportunities for both men and women to reach their full potential. None of that would be possible without the support of ITW and our entrepreneurial culture. Q: If you could have dinner with any historical figure who has broken gender barriers, who would it be and why? A: Angela Merkel. As the first woman to serve as Chancellor of Germany, she demonstrated that strong will, knowledge and strategic planning can break through gender barriers. I would love to talk to her about the challenges she faced and seek her advice for striving to succeed in areas typically dominated by men. Q: Who has had a positive impact on your life and how did they help shape you? A: My greatest support has come from my colleagues Milo? and Daniel. They have helped me grow and move forward while demonstrating that anything is possible if you keep trying. Their support has been incredibly valuable to me, especially because they helped me overcome one of the toughest periods of my life. Thanks to them, I found the strength to keep going and find a new direction. #ProudToBeITW #IWD25

As we continue to celebrate #BlackHistoryMonth, meet Angela Carter, ITW’s chief compliance officer and executive sponsor of the African American Network's (AAN) West Chapter. Based in Glenview, Illinois, and originally from Michigan, Angela models ITW’s values and helps create an inclusive workplace where all colleagues feel valued and are empowered to reach their full potential. Q: How have you celebrated Black History Month? A: This year, I had the opportunity to expand my knowledge of Black history beyond the United States and visited Cuba to participate in an educational tour called the “Afro-Cuban Experience.” The tour, organized through the University of Michigan, provided an overview of the contributions of Black Cubans on labor, military, literacy, music, art and food. Locally, I attended the Black Creativity Gala at the Griffin Museum of Science and Industry, a long-time ITW partner, with fellow AAN members, which featured amazing art from local high school students. Q: What advice would you give to someone interested in learning more about Black history? A: Find and participate in an immersive experience. African Americans have made so many rich contributions to our nation’s history, and these stories are beautifully told in cities as large as Chicago and as small as Schoolcraft, Michigan, which served as a stop on the Underground Railroad. I love trivia and highly encourage anyone interested to find a Black History Month quiz. I learn something new every year. #ProudToBeITW
