Day 2 of ISHA’s 65th Annual Convention was a success. Friday was full of engaging sessions and Student Day. Students participated in poster sessions, 15-minute talks, and in Knowledge Quest! #ISHA2025

Presented with my colleague Rebecca Smith today at the Illinois Speech-Language-Hearing Association 65th Annual Convention! We had a wonderful time representing Northwestern University School of Communication and the Swallowing Cross-Systems Collaborative Lab. Our presentation, “Complex Cases in Pediatric Feeding Disorder” used a case-based learning approach to engage the audience in interactive discussions about assessment and treatment planning. Thankful for these opportunities to grow as a speech-language pathologist!

?? Breaking Barriers & Paving the Way! ?? Chantelle Allen, SLP, and I had the absolute pleasure of speaking at the Illinois Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ISHA) Conference ???. Our first time presenting at ISHA and to such a huge, full-room audience! ?? Our session focused on Strength-Based Language and the power of true collaboration between a BCBA and an SLP, something that is rarely done, but we’re changing that! ???? The feedback was overwhelmingly positive! ???? So many attendees shared how much they loved seeing us model effective collaboration, not just in theory, but in action with our own staff. This is just the beginning of reshaping the way people see interdisciplinary teamwork! A huge THANK YOU to Dr. Camille Byrd O'Quin, EdD, for her support along the way! ???? Your encouragement has meant so much on this journey! To those who attended and engaged with us, thank you!
