Our member municipalities will soon receive greener power thanks to our new agreement for a 150-megawatt utility-scale solar generating facility in St. Clair Co. named Bee Hollow. Bee Hollow is expected to achieve commercial operations in late 2026 and, according to the developer, is estimated to produce enough electricity to power 44,123 homes for one year.
National Grid Renewables is proud to announce the execution of a power purchase agreement with the Illinois Municipal Electric Agency (IMEA) for the Bee Hollow Solar Project. This 150-megawatt (MW) solar development in St. Clair County, Illinois, will support IMEA’s commitment to achieving net-zero carbon emissions in its power supply by 2050. Construction is expected to begin in 2025, expanding our solar portfolio in Illinois to 350 MW. Bee Hollow Solar Project will deliver significant benefits to the community including millions in new tax revenue, local job creation, and a dedicated charitable fund to support the community.
