Thank you to everyone who joined us at our 25th Anniversary Celebration last week. We’re thrilled to announce that we raised more than $270,000 for our 25th Anniversary Campaign, exceeding our goal! At the event, we honored three dynamic leaders who have increased access to our civil justice system: Dorothy G. Capers; Elgie Sims Jr. & Jehan Gordon Booth. Plus we held a special tribute to our fantastic executive director Leslie Corbett. #IEJF25 You can read all about it in our September newsletter: https://bit.ly/4ddW7A0

Leveraging state funds to increase access to the civil justice system for all Illinoisans.
关于我们
The Illinois Equal Justice Foundation (IEJF), a 501 c 3 tax exempt organization, distributes funding appropriated by the State to support not-for-profit legal aid programs. The funding for the IEJF, which comes through an appropriation through the Office of the Attorney General, directly helps families in crisis, victims of domestic violence, veterans trying to access benefits and seniors facing abuse and financial exploitation. The IEJF supports innovative, cost-effective legal aid programs that empower clients to resolve legal issues and regain control of their lives. These programs offer legal information, advice, mediation and representation as well as tools to help clients understand the legal system and their rights within it.

At our 25th Anniversary Celebration, we paid tribute to the force behind the IEJF, our Executive Director Leslie Corbett. As a result of Leslie's leadership over the past 20 years, the IEJF has grown from a one-person organization overseeing a half-million dollar appropriation to a team distributing more than $14 Million in annual civil legal aid funding. Listen to some of our Board Members & staff talk about Leslie's impact on the IEJF, and on Illinois. #IEJF25 https://lnkd.in/gGT5JePS
