We can't think of a better way to have rounded out the week!
I’m blessed to work at the Illinois Manufacturers' Association with a fantastic team and amazing Board of Directors led by Renee Togher, Kara Demirjian Huss, Tom Welge and Gregory Webb. Navistar Inc and Michael Grahe hosted our board meeting today at their headquarters and R & D facility in Lisle. After the meeting, we had the opportunity to meet with their engineering team and tour their R & D operation. They are doing some very cool stuff! Navistar has an amazing history dating back to 1832! While they now produce large trucks and school buses, they originally created some of the very first passenger trucks and SUVs. Today, they employ 15,000+ workers who build 90,000 vehicles annually across eight facilities in North America (seven in the United States) and are constantly innovating into electric vehicles and autonomous vehicles. ???? #MadeinIllinois #manufacturing #innovation

Last year, the Illinois State Board of Education launched a statewide work-based learning (WBL) database designed to provide students with the opportunity to engage and interact with industry experts (employers, postsecondary institutions), while learning to demonstrate essential employability and technical skills necessary for today’s workforce.
