IDOI celebrates Black History Month, noting that the first Black-owned #insurance company in the northern U.S. was in Chicago, Illinois. In 1919, Frank Gillespie founded the Liberty Life Insurance Company which later became the Supreme Life Insurance Company. The insurance company's historic Supreme Life Building at 35th and Martin Luther King Jr. Drive is a designated Chicago Landmark located in the Black Metropolis-Bronzeville National Heritage Area.

Team IDOI was in East Peoria today at the Big I Illinois' Farm Agents Council (FAC) Mid-Winter Education Meeting. Thank you Ti Chesley, for your presentation on “Illinois’ Shifting #Climate and the P&C Hard Market,” and thank you Jason Scott, for sharing important #insurance information with agents visiting the IDOI table.

Team IDOI joined other state agencies and local organizations today at a Multi-Agency Resource Center (MARC) site to assist Chicago Ridge residents impacted by an apartment building fire on Saturday.
