Here’s a look at one of their outstanding projects: Flag Waterproofing & Restoration recently completed a remarkable project that involved the full-height replacement of 60-foot-tall terra cotta half-columns. Given that the existing columns lacked load-bearing support, Flag Waterproofing collaborated closely with the building owner, architect, and engineer to devise a safe, effective solution. Temporary protection and structural stabilizers were installed to support the structure during demolition. To stabilize the building safely, the team used a cantilevered system with steel framing suspended from the main roof. After removal of the deteriorated columns, they applied weather-resistant fireproofing to exposed steel columns, fabricated custom plate brackets for new terra cotta installation, and installed custom-fabricated stainless-steel anchors for lateral support.
