"EVERYTHING IS UP FOR GRABS" AI is changing the game for startups ?? Nick Moreira (Bucked Up) led an insightful workshop on how generative AI can fuel startups and unlock new opportunities. Think of the industry giants as massive boats—they’re established, powerful, but slow to turn. AI, on the other hand, is the jet ski—agile, fast, and lets us maneuver, create, and execute faster than ever before. For the first time, AI is giving startups the edge to move quicker, innovate boldly, and challenge the big players. It’s an exciting time to dive in. Thank you for sharing your wisdom with our founders.

Did you know that since opening their doors in April of 2024, iHub Innovation Hub of Utah has grown from 0-400+ members, 200+ Founders and 70+ Founders Club members (which means they have committed to give 1% back to the iHub nonprofit when their company sells)? We are defying all odds and succeeding as an incubator for new companies in Utah County in every capacity. From the amazing and innovative companies we support (like Eric from Zola for customer service in the picture), on-site legal counsel, 200+ volunteer community mentors (like Coby Bush), educational workshops (like Jess Toolson from Mixhers) keynote speakers (like Ryan Gardner and Bronson Kaufusi) sponsors like Casey Baugh, Todd Pedersen and Kristin Andrus and Jeremy Andrus) and Provo Mayor Kafusi stopping by to encourage new founders, the odds of success are high. However, nonprofits like iHub require a steady flow of sponsorships in order to help new businesses flourish and contribute to the local economy. As we approach the one year anniversary, we are proud to announce our new sponsorship options allowing companies big and small, to help support local startups-up businesses under the iHub roof. We are building an endowment to be self sustaining over the next 10 years, which ensures donations are being put to integrous use to keep innovation growing in Utah County and beyond for years to come. A lesson on FAILURE... One of my favorite & one of most important lessons I teach to my Entrepreneurship class. "We grow much more spiritually by doing it wrong than by doing it right. The demand for the perfect is the greatest enemy of growth." (Reverend Richard Rohr) In entrepreneurship—and in life—we grow much more by?doing it wrong?than by doing it right. The demand for perfection is often the greatest obstacle to progress. ???????????????? ????????’?? ????????????????????; ????????’???? ???????????????? ????????????. When we let go of the need for perfection, we open ourselves up to?learning and real growth. Perfection is an illusion. Progress is real.

Meet Colton H. - founder of Find My Place Finding student housing is often a frustrating, time-consuming mess. But Colton Hibbert saw a better way. Originally planning for a career in medicine, Colton’s entrepreneurial journey began in a college Startup Bootcamp class, where he pitched an idea: What if there was a “Rate My Professor” but for apartments? Instead of relying on word-of-mouth or outdated listings, students could have access to real reviews, up-to-date availability, and transparent pricing—all in one place. That idea became Find My Place, a platform that simplifies the student housing search with advanced filters, unique ratings, and real-time listings from students, property owners, and managers. He started with a simple landing page to validate demand, connected with apartment managers to really understand their pain points, and continuously refined the platform to make it as useful as possible. Now, Find My Place is transforming the way students find housing. No more endless scrolling. No more guessing if a place is worth it. Just real insights, active listings, and a better way to rent. Colton is an incredible entrepreneur. He is scrappy, taking action, and constantly listening to his customer & improving his product. Check out Find My Place and see how it’s making apartment shopping EASIER: https://lnkd.in/ge_V99y2 #entrepreneurship #iHUBUtah #startup

WE MANUFACTURE LUCK.
I had to stop this guy and take a picture with him when I saw his shirt, "the harder I work, the luckier I get." It got me thinking about LUCK... I feel that I’ve been incredibly lucky in my life—fortunate to have great opportunities, meet the right people, and experience success in ways I never could have predicted. But over time, I’ve realized that luck isn’t just something that happens to us—it’s something we?????????????. Lucky people don’t just sit back and wait for good things to happen—they?position themselves?to take advantage of chance occurrences. They recognize opportunities that others might miss and extract value from every situation. ???? ?????????????????????? ???????? So, how do we manufacture luck in our lives? ??Be Observant?– Pay close attention to what’s happening around you. Opportunities rarely come with flashing neon signs. The more you notice, the luckier you become. ??Be Open-Minded?– Luck favors those who embrace new ideas, step outside their comfort zones, and welcome the unexpected. ??Be Outgoing?– Lucky people make eye contact, smile often, and engage with those around them. Positive interactions create lasting connections that lead to new opportunities. ??Write Down 3 Positive Things Every Day?– This simple practice trains your brain to focus on the good, recognize patterns, and appreciate the small wins that build momentum.

Friends, Interested in joining a startup? I met someone through iHub Innovation Hub of Utah who is looking for a technical co-founder. Early stages. Compensation: Equity for now, intending to offer salary later this year. Capital: Bootstrapping. Problem: VC Analyst cold outreach. Customers: 2-10. Skills: Full stack development, OpenAI Prompt API. DM me if you'd like to get in touch with the company founder. Seems like a very interesting opportunity, which is why I broke my long silence on LinkedIn. Committing to a startup is fraught with soul-stretching ambiguity. It also offers unparalleled opportunities and upside. So far, my opinion is quite positive ??
