We have been made aware that there was a cluster of overdoses in the Humboldt Park area associated with the synthetic opioid Nitazene and a new additive BTMPS at the end of October. Chicago Department of Public Health (CDPH) is encouraging anyone to carry and use Naloxone when they suspect an overdose. @chipublichealth One of the best ways to know how to dose your drugs is to know what's in it! We encourage you to take advantage of Chicago Recovery Alliance's drug checking hours at 3110 W Taylor St office: Mondays 5-7pm, Wednesdays 4-6pm, and Saturdays 12-2pm. Other ways to stay safe when using substances are using with others and carrying and using Naloxone whenever you suspect an overdose. Local organizations can request Nitazene Test Strips from CDPH at [email protected]. Be safe and please reach out to IHRRC if you have any other questions!

Good News! ?? Thanks to HB 1557, certain music venues in Illinois are now required to have Naloxone and staff trained to administer it on site during hours of operations! ??
