IHI Corporation Group company, IHI Plant Services Corporation (IPC) has been jointly awarded as a consortium with CTCI Corporation (CTCI), Taiwan’s leading engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) services provider, from CPC Corporation (CPC), Taiwan’s state-owned petroleum company, the contract for engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) of four above-ground, double-domed liquefied natural gas (LNG) cryogenic tanks, with a storage capacity of 180,000 kiloliters each at CPC Kaohsiung Intercontinental LNG Terminal. This project is scheduled to be completed by late 2030. Using its expertise and technologies in the LNG tank and terminal field, we will continue to promote sustainable energy transition and contribute to the realization of a low carbon society. ?? IHI Corporation participated in the Japan-Poland Nuclear Dialogue and Industrial Forum held in Warsaw on March 11-12.??? This event, hosted by the Nuclear International Cooperation Center, focused on strengthening collaboration between Japan and Poland in areas such as localization, financing, and human resource development. During the forum, IHI’s initiatives at the Yokohama Works were highlighted as a model for Japanese industry, earning high praise for activities like “KAIZEN” - improvement proposal - boards and maintaining skills by participating the welding Olympics.? Additionally, we showcased our achievements in the nuclear field and expressed our commitment to supporting Poland’s upcoming commercial nuclear power projects. Through networking sessions with over 30 Polish companies, we gained valuable insights and new ideas to expand our business in Poland, where nuclear energy development is gaining momentum.? Recently, AEA Communications Manager Julian Atchison traveled to Tokyo for the Clean Fuel Ammonia Association's (CFAA) 6th International Symposium. During the symposium, Julian presented on the global landscape of ammonia subsidies and support programs. In addition, he also visited AEA members IHI Corporation at their Yokohama R&D headquarters, Mitsui & Co., Ltd. and Marubeni Corporation. ~ IHI awarded Contract for Steel Composite Modules Mock Up related to NuScale SMR Project in Romania~ IHI Corporation was recently awarded a contract to fabricate a mock up of a steel composite modules for the reactor building side walls of NuScale Power Modules (NPM) Small Modular Reactor (Service) from Samsung C&T Corporation?as a part of Samsung C&T’s scope of work of *FEED?Phase 2 for the Romania SMR Project utilizing NuScale Power Corporation technology at a former coal fired power plant site in Doicesti, Romania. The mock-fabrication will be conducted at IHI's Yokohama plant, with completion expected by April 2025. IHI aims to continue contributing to the realization of a carbon-neutral society through its experience and technology in nuclear power plants, including SMR. *FEED (Front-end Engineering and Design) is the basic engineering work conducted after a feasibility study and is the precursor to EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction). It primarily involves accurate investment cost evaluation, the development of project execution plans, and preparations for selecting major suppliers. Yesterday, JAXA: Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency successfully launched "Michibiki No. 6" aboard the 5th H3 Launch Vehicle from the Tanegashima Space Center! At IHI Corporation, we played a crucial role in the H3 by developing and manufacturing the liquid oxygen and liquid hydrogen turbo pumps for the LE-9 and LE-5B-3 engines. Additionally, IHI Aerospace was responsible for the solid rocket booster (SRB-3), which was essential for the launch. Paving the way for a sustainable future in aviation ? IHI Corporation, in collaboration with the A*STAR Institute of Sustainability for Chemicals, Energy & Environment (ISCE2), officially marked the completion of a state-of-the-art CO2 direct-conversion to liquid hydrocarbons test rig in Singapore. The system has the capacity to produce 5kg of SAF/day, utilising a ground-breaking single-step process for converting CO2 directly into liquid hydrocarbons. ~Successful Test of Green Ammonia Production using Renewable Energy~ IHI Corporation has developed a device capable of producing carbon dioxide-free #ammonia using green hydrogen derived from renewable energy. A small scale-test was recently conducted at the hydrogen research facility “#SomaLab” within the Soma IHI Green Energy Center (#SIGC), confirming that green ammonia could be produced at the targeted efficiency. Towards achieving a #carbonneutral society, IHI will accelerate R&D of this technology using Power-to-X technology, which converts variable renewable energy into heat or hydrogen for efficient energy use，with the aim of scaling up and commercializing it at an early stage. #IHI #IHIGroup #Green #Ammonia #Hydrogen

~ IHI, Fujitsu, and Mizuho Bank form agreement to launch joint business venture to provide total support scheme for J-Credit~ IHI Corporation, Fujitsu Limited, and Mizuho Bank, Ltd. today announced that as of September 16, 2024, the three companies have entered into a memorandum of understanding regarding a joint business venture to provide the J-Credit (Credits certified by the Japanese government for the amount of greenhouse gas emissions reduction or absorption.) Creation Total Support Service. This service will optimize the J-Credit creation process in J-Credit scheme and support rapid monetization for J-Credit creators. IHI leverages its engineering and IoT capabilities to collect operational data on customer facilities, calculate CO2 reductions, and support the creation of environmental value including through the creation of J-Credits. In the first quarter of fiscal 2025, the effort aims to start providing J-Credits creation support for activities to reduce emissions through the introduction of photovoltaic power generation facilities to replace grid electricity.
