Kilter Raises $8.6M to Scale Sustainable Precision Weeding Technology Globally Kilter, a Norwegian agtech company specializing in precision agriculture, has raised $8.6 million in Series A funding. The round was co-led by impact investor Pymwymic and global crop protection company Nufarm, with additional backing from SBG Invest AS, Natural Ventures, and ProAgInvest. The funding will be used to expand Kilter’s technology, develop new applications for its products, and enter new markets, including Australia and New Zealand. “Nufarm has been working in precision application since launching a broad-acre solution in 2014,” said Rico Christensen, Group Executive, Portfolio Solutions at Nufarm. “Partnering with Kilter brings new opportunities to introduce robotics in horticultural markets.” Read the entire article here -> https://lnkd.in/e3rvvHex ?? EarthOptics Raises $24M to Advance Soil Digitization & Predictive Agronomy EarthOptics announced the completion of a $24 million financing round, led by current investors Conti Ventures and The Production Board. New participants include Cibus Capital LLP, RuralWorks Partners, LLC, and Norinchukin Bank, with continued support from key investors such as Leaps by Bayer, S2G Ventures, Shell Ventures, CNH Ventures, Rabo Ventures, and others. Corteva Agriscience Announces Breakthrough Hybrid Wheat Technology Corteva has announced a breakthrough in wheat production, unveiling a new non-GMO hybrid wheat technology that overcomes challenges previously limiting the adoption of hybridization in wheat. While hybrid technology has been transformative in crops like corn, wheat production systems have faced barriers to its consistent and cost-effective use. Corteva’s hybrid wheat technology would offer several advantages: -> Higher Yields: Trials indicate a 10% increase in yield potential, helping farmers optimize productivity on existing farmland. -> Drought Resistance: In water-stressed environments, the hybrid wheat yielded 20% more than elite varieties, offering resilience amid changing climate conditions. -> Faster Germplasm Development: The technology enables the scale-up of parent seed production, accelerating the release of elite varieties. Sam Eathington, Corteva’s Chief Technology and Digital Officer, stated: “Pioneer introduced hybrid corn in the 1920s, driving a 600% increase in average yields. Plantible Foods Secures $30M in Series B Funding Plantible Foods, a food technology company, announced the completion of a $30 million Series B funding round. The round was co-led by Piva Capital and Siddhi Capital, with additional investment from Betagro Ventures, Cultivate Next / Chipotle, Nourish Ventures, and returning investor Astanor Ventures. The funds will support the company’s manufacturing operations and production of its proprietary plant-based protein, Rubi Protein. The funding will be used to scale operations at Plantible’s first commercial facility, “The Ranchito,” a 100-acre plant located in West Texas. The facility is expected to help Plantible meet increasing demand from food companies for plant-based protein options. Tony Martens Fekini, CEO of Plantible Foods, stated: “This funding will enable us to expand our manufacturing capabilities and meet the growing demand for Rubi Protein.
