Self-management of Health and Care with EUDI Wallets The European Health Data Space (#EHDS) regulation, recently adopted by the European Parliament and Council, marks a significant milestone in digital health transformation. With EU Digital Identity Wallet, individuals gain: ??Faster access to electronic health data ??Easier access to electronic health data for providing insights from multiple data sources (in their home country or another member state) in one go with a possibility to share raw data or insights with care providers or next of kin? ??Greater control over how that data is used Health Data use cases: From primary care to research ? Crane_PCP for primary use of health data Working with CRANE_PCP, iGrant.io?, and consortia members Nordic Health Innovation #NHI and Redpill Linpro, have built a decentralised infrastructure to support a scaled-out health data space in primary care across three regions: V?sterbotten in Sweden, Extremadura in Spain, and Agder in Norway—enabling efficient data sharing to enhance health and care services. ? SARDIN for secondary use of health data The SARDIN project, one of four System Demonstrators funded by the Swedish Innovation Agency Vinnova, focuses on the secondary use of health data. The project aims to support researchers in accessing relevant research data at scale while ensuring data minimisation and secure processing. Here, citizens choose preferences (or opt-out) to contribute to research, innovation, public health, and policy-making, enabling a key service for the ecosystem. This is a step forward in enabling user-centric, privacy-preserving and interoperable health data access and sharing. With digital wallets, enabling technology will be in place to efficiently and securely support primary and secondary access to health data. ?? Why does this matter? CRANE_PCP is now in its final phase (ending in 2026). It enables patients, next of kin and care professionals to test a future-ready health data system where user feedback can shape a solution that gives individuals control over their data while ensuring easy access to data. ?
