Another event the IGP Institute had the honor of being involved with was the 2024 Kibble Con. KibbleCon is a premier pet food event where those dedicated to the pet food industry come together to share thoughts, discuss challenges and develop relationships to solve common issues facing the industry.

While many are journeying to spend Thanksgiving with their loved ones, Pat H. and Carlos C. ventured to a tilapia farm in Huila, Colombia, to create material for some of our upcoming courses!

We are pleased to announce that registration is now open for the virtual course, IGP–KSU Pet Food Formulation for Commercial Production. We have expanded the options for graduation dinners for our short courses. Recently we started working with Liquid Art Winery. It is a gorgeous local venue that allows group participants a beautiful view of the Flint Hills.

Dean Minton from the College of Agriculture has announced his transition to a new position at Kansas State University. In this capacity, he will contribute to the Agriculture Innovation Initiative, which focuses on advancing philanthropic goals. He fervently supports agriculture, community engagement, and K-State's mission as a groundbreaking land-grant institution. K-State researchers are working to use artificial intelligence in production agriculture. AI will use information and images on pre-plant, seed placement, and seed coverage conditions to correlate with emergence and yield data. Read more here: https://buff.ly/3YkHxkR

This week the IGP Institute partnered with Sorghum Checkoff, Kansas Grain Sorghum Commission, the U.S. Grains Council and Clemson University to provide a short course on Sorghum Feed Manufacturing & Poultry Nutrition. Registration is now open for the January 21-24,2025 KSU-GEAPS Grain Elevator Managers Course! The course focuses on the science behind the practices used in grain management. Course topics include personnel management, grain quality management, grain handling equipment, grain drying, grain operations costs, grain inventory management, grain receiving and shipping, grain condition monitoring, grain aeration strategies, and fumigation. Course Fee is $1,200 but GEAPS members are eligible for a 20% discount. To learn more, click the link.
