The Path Ahead Investor Summit didn’t disappoint! ?? One of the highlights for me was the incredible speech by Nola E. Masterson from Portfolia Funds , focused on the FemTech vertical. ?? Nola shared her inspiring journey through a long and impactful career in FemTech, shedding light on how far the industry has progressed and the remarkable strides being made. She emphasized that investments in this vertical require patience and long-term commitment, often taking 15-25 years or more to yield returns. Her perspective was clear: investing is about putting money into the change we want to see in the world. ???? Her words truly resonated: "It’s not about the technology itself, but about what people do with it." ?? This powerful insight underscored that #VentureCapital is ultimately a people-driven business, where supporting startups with visionary leadership drives real transformation and lasting impact. ??? Nola also highlighted transformative leaders like Elon Musk, whose visionary approaches drive changes that few others can achieve. She mentioned his potential influence in Washington, leaving us eager to see how his leadership will shape the future. ?? One of the panelist said "The changes we’ll see in the next five years could rival the progress of the last 50 years." This perspective underscores the immense pace and scale of innovation we’re about to witness. For me, the future feels both exciting and daunting, depending on how those at the top choose to wield this incredible power. ? Let’s hope it’s used to create a brighter, more equitable world. ??? A huge congratulations to the Ignite team, Jessica Kobilova, Bill Barry, Megan Thorp, MBA and Brian?? Sparkes for hosting such a successful and inspiring event! ???? Fascinating insights from Sheng Yeo, Co-Founder of OrionVM | Next-Gen Cloud & GPU Platform, on the evolving cloud and AI infrastructure landscape. A few key takeaways: 1. OrionVM is helping cloud providers and AI chip manufacturers "cloudify" their offerings, making it easier for customers to access on-demand GPU and AI compute resources. 2. The industry is seeing a shift back towards on-premise infrastructure as AI workloads require low-latency processing closer to the data source. 3. Virtualization and multi-tenancy will be critical to optimizing utilization and cost-efficiency of these specialized AI hardware platforms. 4. Longevity and concentration risk of customers/workloads is a key concern that infrastructure providers like OrionVM are working to mitigate. 5. Sheng's story of founding OrionVM at just 21 years old is also an inspiring example of perseverance and the power of building the right solution for the market. #Family... #Community... #Tribe... ?? ? I often wonder what it’s like... to start something with simple, heartfelt intentions and, in less than a year, be steering a runaway train that’s grown so fast that people need to be reminded of the sponsor's core business with campaigns that tease: “We’re not an event company!” That’s exactly what Bill, Jess, Nikki, and Brian have achieved with the IgniteGTM Founders & Funders event. Originally just a chance for people to grab a brew and help someone new meet a few friendly faces, it has transformed into something so much more. Last week’s event garnered 600 registrations, and it's not just the numbers; it's the energy, the connections, the genuine conversations. I wonder what it’s like… ?? to create a space where people come to “meet Silicon Valley” entrepreneurship, en masse ?? ?? to build an environment where the biggest “complaint” is that it’s “too social” ?? ?? to plant seeds for relationships that mature into untold business opportunities and collaborations ?? Founders & Funders has been so much more than a monthly event for me. I’ve invested in startups I met there, joined Advisory Boards of interesting companies, and formed partnerships with Founders who’ve moved mountains far from where they began. I’ve shed tears with these young dreamers, shared in their triumphs, and watched their ideas transform into something meaningful. My introductions have sparked connections that led to new hires, new deals, and newfound inspiration for so many. And it has been a true Labor of Love.?? Last week, I was caught completely off guard (in the best way possible) when F&F leaders surprised me by naming me their very first *Community Partner of the Month*. This acknowledgment meant more to me than I can express. It wasn’t just an award; it was a recognition of my heart, my passion for lifting people up, and helping them access the tools that will enable them to step into their greatness.? I’m deeply grateful for every single person who made that moment special. For the love, the support, and the *family* we’ve built, #together. Family isn’t always about blood; it’s about Who You Choose. And I’ve been so fortunate to choose — and be chosen by — this amazing Community. If you’ve been on the sidelines, consider this your invitation to join us. You can’t afford not to be part of this movement. It’s more than just a community; it’s a movement of people who are truly, deeply invested in each other’s success. It all begins with simply showing up and a handshake… the rest is the magic? that happens when you let the Community carry you. ?? #Gratitude #Community #IgniteGTM #FoundersAndFunders Special shoutout to those who contributed to the Message of Gratitude video in the Comments: Bill Barry and Nigora Barry with Little Miss Evvie, James Gee, Anthony Gonzalez, Harold Graham, Hesam Jafari, Jessica Kobilova, Nick Larson, Andreas Mueller, and Brian??
