Our team attended #BrightonSEO in San Diego this week and came back with some great insights! ?? Check out Danelle C.'s key takeaways below?
Had a great time at #BrightonSEO with the Ignite Visibility team! ?? I especially enjoyed Rand Fishkin's closing keynote full of interesting data. Here are my key takeaways: 1. Online traffic growth is plateauing in general due to internet consumption saturation—people simply can't be?more?online. For established businesses with strong SEO, this means it’s unrealistic to expect consistent year-over-year growth at the rates you used to see before. 2. Traffic surged during the pandemic and hasn’t returned to those levels—and likely never will. Comparing your site traffic to that period sets unrealistic expectations. 2. Meet your audience where they're at. (Like actually). Don’t just think of broad platforms like TikTok or Threads. Use tools like SparkToro to understand?exactly?where your audience consumes content and find a way to be present there. 3. Purchase decisions today involve multiple touchpoints in more places than ever before—recommendations can happen via text or Slack, product comparisons on ChatGPT, reading experiences on Reddit, searching reviews on third-party sites, and more! Using traffic/clicks as a main KPI is becoming increasingly complicated due to these searches/clicks happening elsewhere. (Let's not even get into zero-click searches). Instead, focus on conversions and tracking revenue. ?? Were you at BrightonSEO too? I'd love to hear your key takeaways in the comments!
