Too much is at stake to miss it. My hat and I will be attending and taking some key meetings at Game Developers Conference 2025 in San Francisco this week! The state of Gaming both as a creative medium as well as sustainable pathway for education is undergoing several pivotal shifts due to policy, technology and societal changes, all convening at a digital screen near you. We must be present to be represented in the designs of tomorrow, TODAY. I'm here to do my part to share our success stories at Subsume and my newest research with the Ford Foundation on how we can leverage these time to solve inequality for the Future of Work and the Future of Play all while appreciating and empowering the human behind the controller. I will be emphasizing panels around digital tools like Artificial Intelligence that empower creative storytelling, Independent Development Advocacy and building stonger communities of change through gameplay. And wherever the best Dim Sum is to be found (open to suggestions!) And a special thanks to Black In Gaming for the assist in making some magic happen here and with a HUGE annoucement we'll drop later this week! Likewise, looking forward to seeing our cohort of International Game Developers Association (IGDA?) leaders and devs, and updates on our Atlanta chapter soon to come. Alex is the Writer and Narrative Director or Narrative Lead for: We Happy Few, Contrast, Stories: The Path of Destinies, Biomorph and South of Midnight. He is also a Screenwriter (Bon Cop/Bad Cop) & TV show creator (Naked Josh). We, the communications wizard behind this, would like it to be known that we are BIG fans of Bon Cop/Bad Cop ?? So this spotlight is really cool for us for that reason.
