Promulgated by the Royal Decree No. 69 in October 2015, both the eGovernment Authority and the Central Informatics Organization were merged into the ‘Information & eGovernment Authority’ (iGA). Reporting to the Ministerial Cabinet, the authority’s initiatives are in line with the strategies, plans and programs set by the Ministerial Committee for Information Technology and Communication (MCICT) - chaired by H.E. Minister of Interior Gen. Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa Minister of Interior. Currently, iGA is working on establishing newly unified vision, strategy, plans and objectives to serve every citizen, resident and business in Bahrain. With the presence of H.E Mr. Hamad bin Faisal Al Malki, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and Tamkeen Deputy Chairman, and H.E Mr. Milojko Spaji?, Prime Minister of the Republic of Montenegro, along with a number of ministers and officials in the Kingdom, the Information & eGovernment Authority participated in the Tamkeen Tech Talent spotlight event where it showcased to the guests the iGA Technical Development Programme initiative that aims at training ICT fresh graduates, to prepare national cadres through intensive technical training across the Authority’s departments in parallel to attaining professional certifications and later recruiting them in the Public and private sectors.
