Facility management is a profession that encompasses multiple disciplines to ensure functionality of the built environment by integrating people, place, process and technology. For more information on the core competencies of Facility Management, click here https://www.ifma.org/about/what-is-facility-management Founded in 1989, IFMA Central Ohio is a widely recognized international association for facility management professionals in Columbus, supporting over 110 professional members and over 90 associate members. IFMA Central Ohio chapter plans a robust schedule of activities for members. This includes educational programs on timely topics, tours of the region’s most interesting and complex facilities, community service activities, and our annual sporting events. The facility tours and educational programs are geared towards providing facility managers with a better understanding of the current trends and technology that they can incorporate into their facility(s), while the community service activities and sporting events are more social and a great way to network with your fellow members. According to a recent survey of our members, IFMA Central Ohio is an organization that provides facility managers with the resources to network with other facility managers, which allows them the opportunity to share experiences and vendor recommendations. It’s also a place where facility managers can meet potential new vendors and to build a solid relationship before discussing any business needs. As someone interested in IFMA Central Ohio, you are welcome to attend any of our events. While most of our events are free for members and guests, a handful (the annual golf outing and sporting events, as well as the annual State of the Union Luncheon) require a small registration fee. You don’t need to be "invited" by someone to attend. We encourage anyone who finds our events relevant to join us!

Together, the team worked hard unloading pallets of food and repackaging them into care packages for senior citizens in need across central Ohio. By the end of the shift, they had packed an amazing total of 685 boxes!!! At IFMA, giving back to our community and donating our time is a core value that truly defines our chapter. ??That's a wrap on Module 1!??Nine IFMA Central Ohio Chapter members have made the commitment to obtain their Facility Management Professional (FMP) designation through IFMA. To achieve this, students must master 4 modules (a total of 64 hours of class time), study on their own, and pass each module's exam. They are officially 1/4 of the way there! Congratulations to our three scholarship winners who took advantage of the financial help to pay for their classes: Joseph Lusk, Dan Parra, and Kenneth Fetting. The FMP is a credential that provides a solid foundation of knowledge in key facility management areas, enhancing the career potential of facility professionals. This cohort of students represents a wide reach of the FM profession, from higher ed and K-12 to energy, automation, construction, real estate, and the financial sectors. These nine individuals will meet over the next four months, with a projected graduation celebration planned for May/June 2025. ??
