关于我们
The Charleston County Aviation Authority (CCAA) owns and operates the Charleston International Airport (CHS), Charleston Executive Airport (JZI) on Johns Island and the Mount Pleasant Regional Airport (LRO). Chartered in 1970 by the State of South Carolina as a special purpose district, it is responsible for managing, operating and developing all public airports in the Charleston County Airport District. The Aviation Authority coordinates its activities with the Federal Aviation Administration and the South Carolina Aeronautics Commission. The Aviation Authority District is governed by a 11-member board. The South Carolina House and Senate delegations representing Charleston County each nominate three members (approved by the governor) and one member is jointly appointed by the Charleston County Council and the Charleston City Council. The mayors of the City of Charleston, City of North Charleston and Town of Mount Pleasant, the chairman of Charleston County Council and the chairman and vice chairman of the Charleston County Legislative Delegation serve as ex-officio board members. The appointed members serve four-year terms.

Today, we pause to honor the lives lost and the brave individuals who responded with courage on September 11, 2001. As a nation, we stood together in the face of unimaginable tragedy, demonstrating resilience, unity, and compassion. In remembrance, CHS observed a moment of silence at 8:46 a.m. in the airport terminal and a flag presentation by the TSA CHS Honor Guard Unit. We invite all members of our community to reflect on the significance of this day and to come together in support and solidarity. #NeverForget

We are still reeling over the success of our second annual charity golf tournament! ?????♀? Thanks to the incredible support from our community, we raised $13,222 to benefit the International Police Work Dog Association's 2024 National Seminar happening October 6-10. Hosted by the Charleston County Aviation Authority Police Department, Charleston County Sheriff’s Office, and Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office, this seminar will provide advanced training for K-9 teams across the country. With 140 players and 23 corporate sponsors, this event was a true community effort. We are grateful to everyone who participated and contributed to this important cause. Your support helps ensure our K-9 units continue to serve and protect! #FlyCHS #CommunitySupport #K9Training #CharlestonSC #CharityEvent

?? Important Airport Expansion Updates ?? Starting tomorrow, 8/23, the TSA checkpoint will experience a temporary reduction in lanes due to the installation of a new X-Ray machine in lane 7. On Monday, we'll be making traffic changes for our Parking Garage 3 project. Here's what you need to know: ?? August 26th –?West entry of the traffic circle will be closed. Turn right onto Dreamliner at the International and Porsche Boulevard intersection to get to the terminal. ?? Ongoing – Concrete barriers will be placed along the loop road, and work will begin on a temporary road to the daily deck ticketing booth. ?? August 28th – Remaining sections of the traffic circle will be blocked off, so traffic patterns for passengers and rental cars will be reversed. Travelers, please allow extra time for travel and follow posted signs and detours. We appreciate your patience! #iflyCHS #CHSAirport #TrafficUpdate #AirportConstruction #TravelAlert
