This MLK Day, in collaboration with Kubed Root, and East Side Stewards, LLC led by our very own Tendaji Ya'Ukuu, we hosted incredible volunteers to support our Cultivation Lab! This versatile learning and innovation space is designed to provide comprehensive S.T.E.M. education and career exploration opportunities. Shared with Kubed Root, it’s also home to a business incubator and the world’s first indoor community garden! The Cultivation Lab blends indoor and outdoor environments, focusing on agricultural engineering, agronomy, agroecology, environmental sciences, food science, and horticulture education. A huge thank you to all the volunteers from City Year Buffalo for choosing our service project and supporting our mission to inspire and educate the next generation. Our non profit focuses on teaching 8-12yo about indoor agriculture through STEM. We believe that donations should not be just about monetary value but of significant Value itself. Late post: Congrats to Big Big Table Community Café, PATH Inc. (People Against Trafficking Humans) and Hope Totes Buffalo for winning/ placing at Pitch10 last week!! Alongside with BOLDER Inc. , Be Your Own Hero, Inc. , Fostering Greatness Inc. , Good Neighbor Fund , Seneca Street Community Development Corp. and Shai Arnold (aka for grieving daughters). It was such an amazing and exciting experience that taught us so much. We made great connections, given some prize money and will be a part of United Way's Executive Edge program. Had an amazing, fulfilling and enlightening experience, a couple of weeks ago. Thanks to the Cradle Beach Inc. Crew (Ann-Marie Orlowski, Karli Metros, and Gabriele Clark) for giving me a tour of your beautiful campground and making it possible for IF Kids to teach their young campers about the inner workings of hydroponic systems and the possibilities of STEM careers in agriculture.
