    ? Meet an IFF Pioneer ? A powerhouse at the forefront of analytical fragrance R&D innovation, Subha Patel made her mark leading some of IFF’s most legendary innovations & technologies. Born in Nairobi Kenya, Subha is a chemist by trade and started at IFF – U.S. in 1978. Recognized for having a ‘nose,’ she transferred from the R&D Mass Spec Lab – an early adaptor of using computers to identify fragrance and flavor molecules - to our Naturals Products Group where she led exploration and discovery for decades until she retired in 2018 as the Director of the Livings Program. A few notables: ?? Innovator of R&D method detailing and replicating the structural composition of natural and botanical ingredients ?? Key architect & senior scientist/curator of the IFF Botanical and Hydroponic Gardens ?? Lead on the pioneering “Space Rose” experiment, a NASA collaboration designed to study the effects of micro-gravity on flower aromas in space ?? Creator of hundreds of formulations that replicate the scents of nature & everyday experiences using headspace techniques Her influence on legions of scientists around the world is still felt today.
