October is National Depression Education and Awareness Month, a time to shine a light on a serious and often misunderstood mental health condition. According to the American Psychological Association, nearly three in ten adults (29%) have been diagnosed with depression at some point in their lives according to a 2023 survey. Depression affects millions of people worldwide, and it's essential to break down the stigma surrounding it. By talking openly about depression, we can challenge negative stereotypes and encourage individuals to seek help. Raising awareness helps people recognize the signs and symptoms of depression in themselves and others. A supportive community can make a significant difference in the lives of those struggling with depression. OhioGuidestone offers a range of services to support individuals with depression. Thank you Mental Health & Addiction Advocacy Coalition for hosting the Northeast Public Officials Breakfast Reception?on Friday. What a beautiful morning in the CLE. As a community behavioral health provider and proud MHAC member, OhioGuidestone is grateful for MHAC’s ongoing work to increase awareness of issues impacting people with addiction and mental illness, and to advance policies that positively impact access to treatment and supports. Every year we are moved by the number of public officials and community partners who show up to support this critical work. ?
