It was an honor to present IEI: Institute for European Integrity's paper "Mitigating the Accountability Gap: A New Methodology for Detecting High-Risk TSOs" at the 16th International Conference of the International Society for Third Sector Research in Antwerp this past Friday. In the paper, we discuss the accountability gap in the nonprofit sector, present our LESA methodology as a means of detecting organisations engaged in illicit activities or asymmetric operations, and highlight case studies of third sector organisations that both do and do not meet the criteria for classification as "high-risk".
