IEHP Foundation is excited to award $2.3 million in grants to enhance the organizational infrastructure of local nonprofits. ?? This funding supports the Inaugural Leadership Network, a two-year leadership development program designed for community-based organizations (CBOs) in the Inland Empire that focus on the social determinants of health. Over the next two years, IEHP Foundation’s Leadership Network will invest a total of $4.6 million in direct grant funding to 40 CBOs serving families with children across San Bernardino and Riverside counties. Depending on the size of their annual operating budget, selected organizations will receive a total of $50,000 or $130,000. Each organization nominated an established executive leader, such as a CEO or executive director, and an emerging leader, both of whom will participate in the Leadership Network throughout 2025 and 2026. The 80 leaders will convene quarterly to bolster their skills in business management, communication, strategic thinking, change leadership, team building, succession planning and public policy and advocacy. In challenging times, a poignant quote from TV icon Mr. Rogers resonates deeply: “Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.” Nonprofit organizations embody this spirit of helping, stepping in to support the most vulnerable populations during emergencies, crises and everyday life. Federal government contracts with nonprofit organizations have become a cornerstone for delivering critical public services, both locally and globally. While nonprofits multiply the impact of government dollars through the leverage of private donations, particularly vulnerable are organizations focused on human services, where 40% of government grantees report that grants are their main revenue source. With recent?federal funding freezes and proposed budget cuts to programs like Medicaid that support state and local initiatives, the ramifications for nonprofits and, consequently, our communities could be severe. Our latest Inspiring Vibrant Health Column highlights how many Inland Empire-based nonprofits, including our Champions for Vibrant Health, Pacific Clinics and nphs utilize state and federal funds to improve access to health care, housing and other vital services. Keeping in the spirit of Mr. Rogers, let’s do all we can to help the helpers continue investing in the well-being of our region each day. Learn more here: https://lnkd.in/gTJJn48H

Champion for Vibrant Health Spotlight: A Greater Hope ?? For over 22 years, A Greater Hope, a nonprofit foster agency, has filled critical gaps in care for vulnerable children and at-risk parents in rural and remote communities across the Inland Empire. The Barstow-based nonprofit was selected to participate in IEHP Foundation's Champions for Vibrant Health Leadership Network. Beyond traditional foster care services, A Greater Hope provides comprehensive behavioral health support, individual therapy for parents, and group services that are vital for families in rural areas lacking access to mental health care. In 2024 alone, the organization served 430 children in foster care, provided over 9,000 hours of behavioral health services, and helped 91 children reunite with their birth families. One of their success stories features Alicia Westley, who regained custody of her son after the support and care from A Greater Hope and foster mom, also named Alicia.
