"Powering a Sustainable Future" by facilitating the development and innovation of power electronics technology

关于我们

The Power Electronics Society (PELS) is one of the fastest-growing technical societies of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). ?For over 35 years, PELS has facilitated and guided the development and innovation of power electronics technology. ?This technology encompasses the effective use of electronic components, the application of circuit theory and design techniques, and the development of analytical tools toward efficient conversion, control, and condition of electric power.? Our members include preeminent researchers, practitioners, and distinguished award winners. ?PELS also publishes the IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics, a top-referenced journal among all IEEE publications. PELS is dedicated to:1) Upholding the vital scientific and educational aspects of power electronics and its applications.2) Keeping its members around the globe up to date on state-of-the-art technological developments and advances in power electronics research. In striving to build knowledge and awareness of the latest technologies and other advances in power electronics, PELS's goal is to keep members current and competitive in the workplace and provide them with the tools necessary to help them grow both personally and professionally. ?We invite you to join us and benefit from a world of invaluable information and support.

?? YOUR SUPPORT IS NEEDED. IEEE Power Electronics Society recently kicked off a new International Technology Roadmap on High-Power Electronics for Modern Energy Grids (ITRG). Click here https://lnkd.in/evJJC6ps for more information and getting involved. ITRG is currently seeking volunteers to join the working groups of the roadmap. In the first phase, the working groups will review the latest state of the art and challenges with the industry practice of developing high (>10 MW) power electronic converters and systems. The volunteers are welcome to work as leaders, contributors, or reviewers within the working group. Top industry experts and researchers in the field of high-power electronics will serve as the adversary board for the ITRG, guiding the technical activities of working groups. The focus areas of ITRG will cover the technologies of components (active and passive), hardware integration (circuit topologies, mechanical design, busbar, system structures, thermal management, transient simulations, insulation design, and coordination), modeling, control, communication, and protection for high-power electronic systems. Emerging topics such as circularity, reliability, predictive maintenance, digital twin, and the application of artificial intelligence will also be explored.
