I'm thankful for the kind invitation from the organizing committee - and in particular the general chair, Javier Leonardo Araque Quijano, co-chair Francisco Pizarro Torres, and TPC chair Eva Rajo - to present one of the keynote talks at the inaugural IEEE Latin American Conference on Antennas and Propagation in Cartagena, Colombia this morning. I wasn't able to attend in person, but an onsite colleague shared a view from the room. Grateful to connect with colleagues remotely in lieu of the ideal in-person experience!

What an incredible experience this week at the first IEEE Latin American Conference on Antennas and Propagation! The conference program was truly historic! Prof. Miguel Gutiérrez Gaitán and PhD student Cristóbal Huidobro Marín from Escuela de Ingeniería UC had the privilege of engaging with some of the most prominent academics and scientists in the field, including Prof. Constantine Balanis and Dr. Reinaldo Valenzuela, among many others. We extend our gratitude to Prof. Francisco Pizarro Torres (PUCV) and Prof. Javier Leonardo Araque Quijano (UNAL) for their outstanding organization, for inviting Prof. Gutiérrez Gaitán to join the organizing committee, and for welcoming us into this warm and inspiring community of the IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society. A special thank you goes to the co-authors of the three papers presented at the conference: Prof. Luís Almeida (U. Porto), Dr. Pedro M. d'Orey (CISTER/ISEP), Dr. Ramiro Samano Robles (CISTER/ISEP), Prof. Christian Oberli (PUC Chile), as well as Mauricio Rodríguez (PUCV) and his PhD student, Jorge Celades (PUCV), co-supervised with Prof. Gutiérrez Gaitán. We look forward to continuing these exciting collaborations and seeing you all at the next #LACAP conference in Brazil!
