?? We are pleased to announce our new faculty Dr.Lacy Greening. "Lacy Greening joined the School of Computing and Augmented Intelligence in Fall 2024 as an Assistant Professor in Industrial Engineering and Engineering Management at ASU. She earned her Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering with a focus on supply chain engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology, and holds both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Oklahoma State University. During her doctoral studies, she was a Dwight D. Eisenhower Transportation Fellow, collaborated with The Home Depot, and interned as a Research Scientist with Amazon’s Middle Mile Planning, Research, and Optimization Sciences (mmPROS) team. Her research interests center on supply chain planning problems, particularly in the operation and design of large-scale logistics and transportation systems. She earned US DOT Dwight D. Eisenhower Transportation Fellow Award and Atlanta Air Cargo Association Research Excellence Award. She is currently teaching IEE 461: Production Control in Fall 2024. Her research is Large-scale optimization for logistics and transportation system design and operation; transportation network design; supply chain sustainability and resiliency; e-commerce fulfillment logistics" Some fun facts about her is that she enjoys cycling and she is looking forward to exploring the city by bike. Last year, she biked from Atlanta, GA to Savannah, GA (around 275 miles / 240km) over a long weekend. Do not hesitate to connect with her and say hi. Please join as we welcome our new faculty Dr Bing Si, we highly encourage you to connect with her especially if you want to collaborate or study on statistical machine learning and data fusion for complex-structured heterogeneous data in healthcare and medicine. On a separate note she has multiple #PhD openings in her group??. "Dr Bing Si is an Associate Professor in the School of Computing and Augmented Intelligence at Arizona State University. She received her Ph.D. in #IndustrialEngineering from Arizona State University in 2018, and her B.S. in Mathematics from the University of Science and Technology of China in 2012." Dr. Si is a recipient of multiple awards such as Early-Stage Distinguished Research Award (2023), Million Dollar Award (2023), Grace Hopper Faculty Scholarship (2020), Dean’s Dissertation Award from ASU (2017), Outstanding Emerging Fulton Student Organization Leader (2017), ISE Featured Article (2017, 2023), and IISE Student Best Paper Finalists (2017, 2024). She is a member of IISE, INFORMS, IEEE, and SRS. Dr. Si serves as a Guest Editor for Mathematics and an Associate Editor for IISE Transactions on Healthcare Systems Engineering. Her research, which develops a collection of novel statistical machine learning methodologies for heterogeneous health data in precision medicine, public health, and healthcare systems, is sponsored by both industry and federal agencies including NIH and AHRQ with R03, R21, and R01." Prior to his current position, he obtained his doctoral degree from Lehigh University and served as a postdoctoral researcher at the University?of Michigan and the University of Chicago. He won the Elizabeth V. Stout Dissertation Award at Lehigh University in 2022. He has published research papers in multiple venues, including Mathematical Programming, SIAM Journal on Optimization, and the NeurIPS Conference.
