Our team had a busy and rewarding time last week at SATELLITE Conference & Exhibition 2025 in DC. It was a great opportunity to connect with our valued IDRS customers and partners, engage with potential future collaborators, and catch up with friends and colleagues across the industry. For some of our team, it was their first time at Satellite, while others have been attending for over 30 years, but no matter how many times we go, it remains a highlight of the year. Three Facts You Might Not Know About IDRS in Defence Applications 1️⃣ Direct, Real-Time Tasking of your satellite from the Battlefield IDRS allows satellites to be tasked directly by battlefield assets, such as Navy ships, Airforce aircraft, or Ground Command. By connecting to your satellite from a BGAN terminal in the battlefield, direct tasking data can be delivered in real-time to the spacecraft, and edge-processed payload data can be delivered in real time to where it’s needed most. 2️⃣ Boosts Optical Link Performance Satellites using optical links rely on precise alignment to communicate.
