关于我们
IDP Foundation (IDPF) is a private non-profit family foundation focused on innovation, development and progress by supporting local actors deliver sustainable solutions to complex global issues. We work with partners in Ghana and Kenya to deliver market-based solutions focused on improving education in underserved communities. We’re passionate about strengthening the global education system via an all-hands-on-deck approach, giving children in all settings access to quality education. As an international team with a long-standing presence in Ghana, we’re focused on thinking outside-the-box on the issues impacting learning outcomes in low to lower-middle income countries. Our focus is two-fold. Firstly, we actively fund organizations who support low-fee private schools today, while telling the story of their organic nature by empowering the voice of local actors and beneficiaries. Secondly, we focus on championing the mixed economy of education provision – and the contribution of non-state actors – to be recognized and integrated into national education systems. We believe in the power of partnerships to achieve our mission. Our aim is to support sustainable community-built education provision, as part of an affordable non-state sector (ANS) that complements public education systems and is governed within a central framework. We’re guided by the principle that the best way forward is to empower local actors to create change. Our core values are: T Building capability beyond aid is the most effective answer T Designing market-based solutions for the underprivileged supports economic development T Working in partnership and empowering local communities is key to sustainability T Advocating for effective alliances harnesses the power of the collective T Being prepared to embrace risks leads to more inclusive results T Acting as a catalyst leverages further funding Our global team are located in the US, Ghana and the UK.

Last week's 2024 Ghana National Education Week, under the theme 'The Education Trans-formation Agenda; Evidence for 2017' provided a great opportunity for stakeholders to offer the ministry feedback on education sector policies and priorities. As a member of the GPE Local Education Group (LEG), IDPF contributed to LEG's statement to the Ministry which was presented during a main event. Among a number of priority areas, the statement emphasized the need for inclusion of the non-state sector in the National Standardized Testing as well as improved sector coordination and funding, which gained support from many development partners. Insight of the week ?? “The All Hands On Deck Toolkit has been extremely useful for us, especially in our advocacy work. We used the toolkit to set up the Coalition of Low-Fee Private School Associations in Lagos State, for which SEED is now the Secretariat." Olanrewaju Oniyitan, Executive Director at the SEED Care & Support Foundation in Lagos State. All education actors share a common agenda: to ensure all children have access to quality education, now. But we are still far from achieving SDG4. The All Hands On Deck for SDG4 action toolkit helps different education stakeholders to engage with each other effectively through the use of a set of free resources. Thank you to Bond UK for publishing our blog post on the toolkit. This #WorldChildrensDay we hear from low-fee private school teacher, Everlyne Indama, who teaches at St. Francis Education Centre in Nairobi, Kenya. Everlyne calls for ALL children to be supported by ALL stakeholders so that all learners are given the opportunity to better their future, regardless of the school they attend. In Nairobi, around 60% of the population live in informal settlements and two thirds of primary school children attend non-state schools. These schools lack recognition for their crucial contribution to education delivery in underserved communities, and therefore receive little to no support. The “all” in sustainable development goal 4 on education must mean all children in all settings. We all want to improve access to, and quality of, all education for all children, now. And as Everlyne says, to do this all stakeholders need to work together. Let’s get All Hands On Deck for SDG 4 – find out more ?? https://heyor.ca/rS0W2m Olanrewaju Oniyitan Shaveta Sharma-Kukreja Aashti Zaidi Hai UNICEF United Nations Dignitas Project Premier Credit Kenya Global Schools Forum SEED Care & Support Foundation Regional Education Learning Initiative- RELI Africa Central Square Foundation
