#FromDataToPolicy | IDinsight and EDCOM 2's research informs major education reform in the Philippines ?????? We're thrilled to share that the Philippines Department of Education (DepEd) is cutting teachers' administrative paperwork by 57%, informed by insights from IDinsight's collaborative research with the Second Congressional Commission on Education (EDCOM 2). Our joint nationwide study, surveying 2,000+ schools and 15,000+ teachers, revealed: ?? Teachers work 52 hours/week on average (vs. mandated 40) ?? 42% of teachers work more than 50 hours/week ?? Teachers spend 18 hours/week on ancillary (learning related, but non-teaching) tasks alone This reduction in workload will allow teachers to focus on what matters most: quality instruction and student engagement.
