Identifinders is proud to have assisted the Department of the Army Criminal Investigation Division (CID) with the identification, arrest, and successful prosection of Allen Houston James for the attempted murder of a fellow soldier in 2000. James was recently sentenced to 200 months in prison for his crime. We acknowledge our success on this case was thanks to the hard work and dedication of the late Gretchen Stack, who passed away in February 2023.

Identifinders International is honored to have assisted the Port Angeles WA Police Department in solving the 1988 sexual assault of two young girls in a tree house using Forensic Genetic Genealogy. The suspect was identified as Kim John Cederleaf, using DNA that was obtained from the vitreous humor obtained during his autopsy. Special thanks to forensic genetic genealogist Jenna Robertson who worked this case. Here is a great video that Jared Ross posted on his Geneavlogger YouTube channel to correct a lot of the misconceptions around the Baby Garnet case. It straightens out what probably happened versus what the granddaughter remembers versus what was reported in the news media. I recommend it highly. https://lnkd.in/gssmgjGr #Geneavlogger #JaredRoss #Identifinders #MistyGillis #BabyGarnet #FGG

Rocked the second day of CooperCon at the Air and Space Museum in Seattle. Is there a way to solve the only unsolved hijacking in history by identifying DB Cooper using DNA? Remains to be seen! https://lnkd.in/gj4fHKX3 #Coopercon #DBCooper #FGG #Citizensleuths #Northwest305

A big shout to the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office for hosting their annual fundraiser on Saturday night in Murphy, CA. Lt. Tim Sturm & Co did a wonderful job of organizing the dinner along with a raffle and silent auction to raise money for their efforts to identify UHR cases in the county. The dinner was a great chance for Lisa Lewis and I to catch up with old friends Ryan Backmann, Annemarie Schubert, Jessica Koong, Danny Hellwig & Mindy Montford and to make a few new ones like Debbie Boyle. I’m already marking my calendar for next year.

Member at The Vidocq Society. Expert in the application of genetic genealogy to the coldest of cold cases.
We just wrapped up a wonderful week at the Southeast Homicide Investigators Association conference in San Antonio. It was the best yet! One of my favoriate talks was by Julie Weil, who spoke as a survivor of a brutal rape and her "Not Just Me" Foundation. And don't forget the talk on the disappearance of Brittanee Marie Drexel in 2009 and the brilliant detective work that led to the recovery of her body and the arrest of her killer. This afternoon, we wrapped up the conference with Sr. Special Agent David Owens from SLED in South Carolina, who spoke about the Murdaugh Murders. Wow! See you all next year in Reno! #SEHIA #FGG #FindingBabyHolly #NotJustMe #HollyMarie #JulieWeil
