📣 Exciting News 📣 Idealist.org and VolunteerMatch are merging! Today is an exciting day in the social-impact sector! We’re thrilled to announce that Idealist and VolunteerMatch are merging to better support our network of organizations and individuals that are looking to make a positive change in the world. Since 1995, Idealist has been dedicated to building a better world by helping people find social-impact jobs, internships, and volunteer opportunities that align with their skills and interests. To date, we’ve connected more than 150,000 organizations with tens of millions of people on Idealist, posting over one million social-impact jobs and hundreds of thousands of internship and volunteer opportunities. VolunteerMatch has similarly empowered people to find meaningful ways to give back, partnering with more than 100,000 nonprofits to build the largest network of volunteer opportunities worldwide. As we join forces, we’re working toward a shared goal: to make it easier than ever for individuals to find opportunities that drive positive change—whether through volunteering, interning, or working in mission-driven careers. We’re so excited to embark on this new chapter together and will share updates as we bring our vision to life. If you have any questions or want to learn more about the merger, check out our blog post or get in touch—we’d love to hear from you: https://ow.ly/Vz0m50UFItN #MergerForGood #Nonprofit #SocialImpact #Volunteering #Careers #Idealist #VolunteerMatch

Please join us in welcoming and congratulating Bob Giannino who has been appointed Chair of the Board of Directors at Idealist! 👏 Bob, a longstanding board member of Idealist, brings a deep commitment to equity, community, and social impact — values that align powerfully with our mission to connect people, organizations, and opportunities for good. His leadership, vision, and decades of experience in the nonprofit sector will be invaluable in this new role as we grow and deepen our impact.
We're thrilled to celebrate Bob Giannino's appointment as Chair of the Board of Directors of Idealist.org. Given Bob's unwavering commitment to civic engagement and nonprofit leadership, it is no surprise that his path first converged with Idealist decades ago. He becomes Board Chair at a crucial moment for the organization and for the nonprofit sector as a whole. To meet the moment, Idealist is broadening its impact while honoring its roots. In addition to serving as a vital career resource for mission-driven talent, Idealist is expanding into a platform that helps communities mobilize locally to directly address pressing social challenges. Bob will play an integral role in this evolution. The Lindauer team is so proud to see Bob continuing to provide bold leadership to the sector we are privileged to serve every day. No matter what the waves of some discourse say, it is incredibly important for social-impact organizations to have strong, diverse teams dedicated to supporting their missions and the communities they serve. But according to a report published by business.com, a Centerfield company, hiring managers are less likely to contact candidates who are nonbinary or who list they/them pronouns on application materials, contributing to harmful biases against members of the transgender and gender nonconforming (TGNC) community. To help our community of organizations combat bias in their recruitment and hiring processes, we worked with experts at Lambda Legal to inform this two-part series on welcoming the TGNC community into your workforce.
