The International Dairy Deli Bakery Association (IDDBA) is a nonprofit trade association providing education, training, and marketing resources to food retailers, manufacturers, brokers, distributors, and other industry professionals. The membership includes over 1,500 companies ranging from small independents to the world's largest corporations. IDDBA produces original consumer research and a top industry trends report and develops training programs on marketing, merchandising, food safety, and management. The annual trade show attracts over 10,000 registrants, includes over 2,000 exhibit booths and features distinguished and internationally-recognized speakers such as former presidents George W. Bush and Bill Clinton; celebrity chefs like Guy Fieri and Rachael Ray; and star athletes such as Peyton Manning and Brett Favre. IDDBA was founded in 1964 and is based in Madison, Wisconsin.

The 22nd biennial United States Championship Cheese Contest?, the nation's most respected cheese and butter competition, took place early this month in Green Bay, hosted by the Wisconsin Cheese Makers Association. IDDBA stopped by to wish the forty competing IDDBA member companies good luck, and to bring some stories back for the IDDBA community to share. So, what does it mean to win the competition or a category? We spoke to many people at the competition, including judges Cathy Strange (Whole Foods Market), Marc Bates (Bates Consulting), and Dominique Delugeau (Saputo Inc./Saputo Cheese USA), to get their expert insights. Congratulations to all of the category winners in this year's competition.
