The performance of heat exchangers is directly affected by internal contamination arising from usage. Sediments deposit during the flow of various types of media through the exchanger. Solid deposits and contaminants within the closed-loop circuit most commonly accumulate on the plates, tubes, and other elements inside the device, restricting flow. Over time, the flow becomes increasingly limited, and the heat exchanger gradually loses its efficiency and heat exchange capability. Deteriorated heat exchanger performance leads to increased operating and energy costs, as the system is under increasing load. As a result, the following issues may occur: ·??????General efficiency drop ·??????Random deviations from operating temperature or operational requirements ·??????Internal and external leaks ·??????Process disruptions ·??????Increased demand for capacity ·??????High energy consumption ·??????Corrosion and damage To ensure the best and longest operation of the exchanger, periodic and preventive cleaning and descaling of the device's interior are recommended. A particular type of gaskets in plate and frame heat exchangers depends on the application and operating parameters. Seals are highly elastic, but their properties vary depending on the existing conditions. Some materials perform better with aggressive chemical substances, while others are more resistant to high or low temperatures. Proper selection of gaskets ensures the heat exchanger's lifespan extension and minimizes potential failures. Each medium indicated in your inquiries is analyzed by our experts for compatibility with the specific seal. Following the analysis, our technical department will suggest the most favorable solution using one of the following: ??· EPDM ??· NBR ??· Viton Examples of gaskets selection for the most commonly used media in the JAG heat exchangers: ??Water ??· All gaskets can be used up to 130°C (or 250°F). Above this temperature, up to 150°C (or 300°F) EPDM is recommended, and with higher temperatures, up to 170°C (or 350°F) Viton is required. ??Oils (hydraulic, thermal, food-grade) ??· NBR ??Glycols (Ethylene Glycol, Propylene Glycol) ??· All gaskets can be used, however, NBR lasts longer when working with EG solutions, and EPDM with PG solutions.
