As the new Executive Director of the Idaho Walk Bike Alliance, I'm looking forward to elevating IWBA's work to promote healthy, safe and reliable, active transportation for all Idahoans. As a lifelong Idahoan I've lived in rural areas and now currently live in Boise. I've seen the need for IWBA's leadership from city meetings to the state Capitol. As the father of an active 10 year old son, Charlie, I understand the need to make active transportation safe and fun for everyone. It's been a busy couple days for our little team. We've been crisscrossing Southern Idaho with our friends from the Idaho Walk Bike Alliance and Boise Bicycle Project to tell the stories of people who walk, ride, roll, and drive. The content we captured will be used in the classroom as part of our Youth Active Transportation Safety Grant from the Governors Highway Safety Association (GHSA) and NRSF. We're also creating a new statewide campaign inspired by Jonathan Adkins and his challenge at last year's GHSA annual meeting to create an awakening around traffic safety.
