CMS outlines potential areas to explore in order to advance health in rural, Tribal, frontier, and geographically isolated areas. These areas build on valuable insights from previous Innovation Center work and key themes and ideas from the CMS Innovation Center 2024 #RuralHealthHackathon. The 2024 Rural Health Hackathon was a series of in-person, collaborative sessions designed to generate creative, actionable solutions for #RuralHealth challenges: https://lnkd.in/eTTQPdYd. Additionally, people could submit ideas virtually. Looking ahead, CMS plans to issue a Request for Application to fill the ten open spaces for the Rural Community Hospital Demonstration. This program aims to test cost-based reimbursement feasibility for small rural hospitals that are too large to qualify as Critical Access Hospitals.

To have a truly compassionate, high quality, and cost-effective healthcare system---and, to have a truly caring society that promotes independence, dignity, fairness, honors our elders, comforts our most vulnerable, and keeps families in-tact---there is no more important cause than ensuring a vibrant, growing, well-resourced, and high-integrity care at home industry.
