Idaho Commerce, along with other state and federal partners across Idaho, joined together to host the Idaho Small Business Cybersecurity Summit in September. The event, which attracted over 150 attendees across two sessions, shared practical information and resources with Idaho businesses on ways they could protect and defend themselves from cybersecurity attacks. It encourages Idahoans to Support Local Gems – the small businesses in our communities – that make Idaho special. Idaho’s small businesses are the lifeblood of our communities and the backbone of our economy. Like all of us, small businesses are dealing with challenges brought on by rising costs and inflation. Community support ensures small businesses can continue to operate and overcome these economic challenges. This holiday season, Idaho Commerce has teamed up with Senator Jim Risch to present Support Local Gems All Season Long; a holiday revival of the statewide Support Local Gems initiative. Idahoans are invited to do their Christmas and holiday shopping at their favorite small businesses. Anyone can participate by shopping in person or online, purchasing gift cards, dining at a local restaurant and encouraging others to do the same. If you missed it, the Idaho Commission for Libraries (ICfL) has announced that the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) awarded Idaho more than $6.3 million to implement the Digital Access for All Idahoans (DAAI) Plan. Over 80% of the award will be subgranted to community-based organizations to facilitate local solutions to digital access divides.
