“Today’s bulletin is intended to bring increased awareness of an identified health risk in the marijuana industry and will support Commission and industry efforts to enhance safety standards across Massachusetts,” said Commission Acting Executive Director/Chief People Officer Debbie Hilton-Creek. “We will continue to partner with licensees to appropriately and effectively communicate this message and depend on them to implement protocols that will protect the overall well-being of our workforce.”

Creating Gatekeepers of Compliance - Quarterly audits should be conducted of the security equipment in cannabis operations either by the security detail on site or the compliance manager of the facility. Cameras should be reviewed daily to ensure there is no obstruction or cameras that are not functioning properly. Every quarter check to ensure that the time stamps are correct and not off, that the DVR has the correct amount of retention that meets the State requirements, and always check for obstructions including camera naming conventions. #employees #cannabisoperations #cannabiscompliance #cannabisindustry #complianceculture #womenincannabis #icsconsultingservice #freshstart?

Creating Gatekeepers of Compliance - Document reviews are recommended on a quarterly basis to ensure that the cannabis operation’s SOPS and employee training attestations are up to date. SOPs should be updated anytime a material change has taken in place in the day to day operations. This also includes new equipment, new production recipes, or any plant application changes are just a few examples of a material change. #employees #cannabisoperations #cannabiscompliance #cannabisindustry #complianceculture #womenincannabis #icsconsultingservice #freshstart?

Creating Gatekeepers of Compliance - The management of documents in cannabis operations are a critical component to maintaining compliance for not only the day to day operations but for the overall business. Having a good system in place for managing those records is key. Ensuring that records are legible, and professional, and organized when presenting to the State and/or regulators. Be sure the operations manager/compliance officer knows the location of all required records for on-site inspections. #employees #cannabisoperations #cannabiscompliance #cannabisindustry #complianceculture #womenincannabis #icsconsultingservice #freshstart
