关于我们

iCouldBe was established in 2000, to combat a pressing crisis in the U.S. educational system: the need to reach economically disadvantaged students; to guide them to graduate from high school, to set educational and career goals, and to build personalized pathways to achieve their goals. iCouldBe uses technology to re-imagine the power of mentoring by bringing students and mentors together in a safe, evidence-based virtual e-mentoring community.

Race day is THIS Sunday! Ralph Mandingiado, your hard work is paying off. There's still time to donate to show your support.

🏁 Help me help promising teens cross their finish line! 🏁 As some of you know, I've decided to challenge myself like never before by running my first marathon - the 🗽 2024 New York City Marathon 🗽 on November 3 (Yes, go big or go home, and yes, one month to go!). I'm also taking this opportunity to extend this beyond the physical endurance of one individual to impact the lives of thousands of high school students across the United States. This endeavor, 🏃♂️ "Miles for Meaningful Mentorship: A First-time Marathoner's Fundraiser" 🏃♂️ is not just a personal milestone but also a mission to raise funds and awareness for iCouldBe.org, a non-profit based in NY where I serve as a member of the board. 💡 iCouldBe connects underserved high school students (27,500 to date) with mentors to develop pathways and support networks that help them reach their academic and career goals. With four months of rigorous training under my belt and over 450 miles logged (that’s 725 in kilometers), I am more committed than ever to cross that finish line and make every mile count for our mentees. 💪🦵 If you're ready to make a difference (minus the sore legs and calves – leave that with me) , you can contribute to the cause by donating through this link: https://lnkd.in/eNzuMuQ3 or by scanning the QR code below. Every amount is valuable and deeply appreciated. 🙏 Thank you for considering supporting! Together, we'll not only reach the finish line but also pave a runway of dreams for our teens, one meaningful mile at a time. ❤️

In July 2022, AmeriCorps joined the U.S. Department of Education and the Everyone Graduates Center, Johns Hopkins University to launch the National Partnership for Student Success to answer President Biden's call to get 250,000 additional caring, supported adults into schools to address the challenges and disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.    AmeriCorps CEO Michael D. Smith joined The White House Domestic Policy Council Director and Advisor to the President Neera Tanden and the US Deputy Secretary of Education Cindy Marten to announce the National Partnership for Student Success exceeded President Biden's call, with more than 323,000 additional adults stepping up to help students over the last two school years.    From early education to high school, more than 54,000 AmeriCorps members and AmeriCorps Seniors volunteers carried out activities that contributed to school readiness and K-12 success in 10,000 schools and in hundreds of out-of-school and summer programs last year.    Thank you to the Americans who stepped up to help our students succeed and address the inequitable challenges in underserved communities, students, educators, and schools. This #STEMmentoring month, we're elevating stories of mentors like Jacob Nemitz, who is paying forward his experience being mentored in medicine to now mentor a future nurse! Jacob, a recent graduate of the University of Buffalo and a patient care technician, discovered iCouldBe.org while searching for remote volunteering opportunities. He felt inspired to continue the cycle of mentorship by sharing his wisdom and experiences with young people, and began mentoring Carina — a high school junior who shares his interest in the medical field. Read their mentoring story in our latest blog post! #Mentorship #MOTY2024 https://lnkd.in/e6t_WxMD

2 years ago I decided I wanted to join the Board of Directors of a non-profit organization. I wanted to give back, to help out, to contribute. Through the incredible programming of the Metro New York Chapter National Black MBA Association, I was able to work with Cause Strategy Partners who operates their signature board recruitment, placement, training and support program, Board Lead. After 2 semesters of nonprofit board fellowship training, I am so proud to say that I've joined the board of iCouldBe.org. I'll have much more to say about this wonderful organization but suffice to say, if you have a dream, go after it. Don't be afraid to ask for help, do the work, and see it through. 🔥 Let's go!! #perseverance
