Building a culture that facilitates & rewards open science enabling collaboration & innovative, reproducible outcomes
关于我们
ICOR's mission is to enable and incentivize an open and collaborative research culture by strategizing, connecting and implementing projects that seek to change the status quo of competition throughout the research cycle. To build a body of evidence and case studies on the impact of projects that facilitate collaborative open research, and to demonstrate how these practices, tools, metrics and incentives address the larger objective of finding innovative solutions to complex, real-world problems.

Congratulations to Kelly Cobey who received the 2024 #MaddoxPrize Early Career Award last week! We are excited to have Kelly talk at our upcoming meeting on Wednesday which focus on Harmonising Research Metrics and Indicators Across the Ecosystem. If you have not yet registered then you can do so through the link in the meeting blog post. Hope to see you there! https://lnkd.in/efCYKkUe
We are delighted to announce the 2024 Springer Nature #MaddoxPrize winners! Patrick Ball has been awarded the 2024 John Maddox Prize for standing up for science. The judges commended Patrick's work, and how he “has steadfastly advocated for introducing rigour in cataloguing human rights abuses despite limited resources." Kelly Cobey has been awarded the 2024 John Maddox Early Career Award. The judges commended her “revolutionary” work which “tackles deep, thorny issues + proactively provides scientists with tools to assist and encourage them in adopting open science practices.” Congratulations to our winners!

Check out this explainer for the growing Publish-Review-Curate model, which provides information about the process of each of the P-R-C stages.
?? New ASAPbio resource ?? - a brief explainer on the Publish-Review-Curate model of scientific communication, now published at MetaArXiv! Check it out here: https://lnkd.in/eG4sjrDw We hope the explainer will be a go-to piece for those who need to learn about this innovative way of publishing. Thanks to co-authors Ludo Waltman and Jonny Coates and to the many collaborators who gave constructive feedback on the piece. Read on to learn more about PRC - Publish-Review-Curate (PRC) is a model of scientific communication that breaks the process of publishing down into distinct parts. In the publish stage, a research artifact (e.g., article, dataset, study registration) is made public by a researcher. In the review stage, reviewers transparently evaluate the research artifact and provide feedback. In the curate stage, research artifacts are compiled into collections, and they may have summary judgements or evaluations applied to them. The PRC model supports decentralization by design, with different services executing different parts of the scholarly communication process. This provides a big opportunity for innovation and iterating on the traditional publishing process. Excited about PRC? We'd love to chat more with you to see if we can work together to help grow this model.
