Covering over 50 km in just 40 minutes, this initiative marks a major advancement in ensuring faster, safer, and more equitable access to eye transplants—especially for underserved regions. Hon'ble Prof. Vinod Kumar Paul, Member @NITIAayog, launched the Expansion of ICMR Antimicrobial Resistance Surveillance & Research Network (AMRSN)?to?secondary-level hospitals.??This initiative will expand footprint of AMR surveillance beyond tertiary care and??enhance nationwide monitoring of antimicrobial resistance. Secretary, DHR & DG, ICMR emphasized the need?for generating high-quality, reliable AST data?to?guide evidence-based interventions for all levels of health care. A training?workshop on the basics of antimicrobial susceptibility testing, antimicrobial stewardship and Data Management System?was conducted for?130 participants from 60 hospitals.

Hon'ble Union Minister of Health & Family Welfare, Sh. J. P. Nadda ji also launched the first in the world Open system RT-PCR kit for Tuberculosis validated by ICMR during the International Symposium on Health Technology Assessment (ISHTA) today. The Quantiplus kit developed by Huwell Lifesciences , which can be used?on any PCR machine. This will bring down the cost of TB testing to 1/5th.
