ICG?today announced the final close of its fifth GP-led secondaries fund programme, ICG Strategic Equity Fund V (“ICGSE V"). ICG Strategic Equity Fund V together with its related vehicles, received $11bn of capital commitments and was oversubscribed at its increased hard cap.? Launched in 2014, ICGSE is a specialist private equity investor focused exclusively on the GP-led secondaries market, with over $19bn committed to transactions to date. Fund V constitutes an evolution of ICGSE’s investment strategy and the capital raised is being invested, in partnership with leading PE sponsors, in single asset continuation vehicles for high-quality companies in North America and Western Europe. Commenting on the milestone, Global Head of ICG Strategic Equity, Ricardo Lombardi, said: “We are grateful for the continued support of our investors, colleagues, and partners. The final close for the Fund marks a milestone for ICG Strategic Equity and demonstrates the continued investor interest in our highly differentiated GP-led secondaries strategy. ICG today announced its first Swiss office, located in Zurich, and opening in H1. The expansion of ICG's offering to Swiss clients coincides with the appointment of Jürg Rimle as Managing Director within its Client Solutions Group (CSG), who joins with an extensive record of serving clients across Switzerland. ICG Real Estate’s Metropolitan platform has completed on ￡50m of transactions, consisting of nine mission-critical UK industrial and logistics assets. Spread across four separate transactions, each asset has been picked for its prime location, and will be managed by Axel Logistics. One transaction involves five assets across Reading, Birmingham, Sheffield, Newcastle and Hull being let to National Timber Group, the UK’s largest independent timber distributer. The remaining three transactions concern assets situated in Birmingham, Manchester and Merseyside, all of which are anchored by strong tenants with an average lease length of c.11 years. “This series of transactions highlights our ability to aggregate a portfolio of mission-critical assets at a very attractive entry basis by leveraging ICG’s unique network of corporate relationships. Templus – the first Southern Europe regional data centre platform, backed by ICG’s European Infrastructure team – is expanding, having acquired bitNAP, a data centre in Barcelona. ?? The asset occupies circa 3000m2 and represents a market leading facility, with a Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) of 1.14, one of the lowest in the market. With this acquisition, Templus already holds six strategic locations across Spain, well underway to surpassing its target of 20 data centres in the country by the end of the year. “The addition of the bitNAP data centre in Barcelona demonstrates Templus’ commitment to geographical expansion, while keeping sustainability and efficiency at the core of its operations.
