?? Great milestone for the Social Finance ecosystem: Release of the Social Investment Framework! ?? The Social Investment Framework, developed through a collaborative effort between Accelerating Impact and LuxFLAG, marks a significant milestone in social impact investing. By establishing themes, eligible activities, exclusions and safeguards, it provides a clear and comprehensive definition of social impact investing, and in doing so, nurtures the development of social investment products. ?? Eligible Activities, Exclusions and Safeguards: The framework categorizes eligible social activities into three main themes: Decent Work across the Value-Chain, Adequate Living Standards and Wellbeing, and Inclusive and Sustainable Communities. It also includes suggested lists of excluded activities and minimum safeguards to ensure adherence to social and environmental standards. These measures are designed to prevent potential negative impacts and promote responsible investing practices. The framework emphasizes importance of key concepts for impact investing: financing of activities made with the intention to generate measured and managed substantial positive impact, implying that the activity should address an unmet need for a target population, while avoiding or mitigating negative impact, alongside a financial return. This framework aims to align capital flows with social objectives, fostering the growth and legitimacy of the social investing ecosystem.
