The FDA 2024 Scientific Computing and Digital Transformation Symposium featured distinguished speakers who provided an in-depth and comprehensive analysis of IT transformation, data analytics, AI/ML, and quantum computing. Talent development programs aimed at nurturing and empowering the next generation, along with training initiatives focused on data driven decision making, AI, and quantum computing, are top priorities. The FDA recognizes the rapid advancement of transformative technologies, such as AI, quantum computing, and predictive analytics, and is actively incorporating these innovations into its strategy to enhance operational efficiency and regulatory processes. Modernization efforts are designed to streamline workflows, improve data integration, and utilize common platforms to create scalable, cost-effective solutions that enhance productivity while promoting scientific research, development, and public health.

ICallidus is excited to attend the 2024 FDA Scientific Computing Digital Transformation Symposium, a collaborative event hosted by the FDA Scientific Computing Board (SCB) and the FDA Office of Digital Transformation (ODT) from November 4-6. We look forward to engaging with industry partners to support and enhance the OneFDA Ecosystem.

At the 2024 Digital Health Summit, healthcare leaders came together to discuss significant advancements for the Department of Defense (DoD) and the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), emphasizing a single EHR system to streamline workflows and enhance interoperability across all domains and disciplines. A standardized data model and shared vocabulary were identified as critical to patient care, with collaboration between the VA, NIH, and HHS further bolstering interoperability and secure data sharing. The summit also highlighted AI and machine learning applications in health IT, focusing on responsible AI frameworks, data brokerage, AI sandbox, and reducing clinician burnout, with the VA testing generative AI models and the FDA overseeing and safeguarding AI practices. Other themes included fostering a patient-centered approach, using predictive analytics for better health outcomes, and leveraging AI for personalized treatments. Agencies stressed the importance of efficient digital transformation, prioritizing small but impactful digital interventions, and enhancing training to support AI adoption. Overall, leaders reaffirmed a commitment to patient care through technology-driven, scalable solutions, focusing on data security, human-centered design, and continuous innovation within health IT.
