Last week, I had the honor of meeting Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear and Jeff Noel, Secretary of the Kentucky Cabinet for Economic Development, in Madrid during their journey to Davos. From December 2-6, 2024, USDA Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS) Administrator Daniel Whitley led an Agribusiness Trade Mission to Morocco. Brendan Wilson, CEO/Executive Director of Food Export-Midwest and Food Export-Northeast, attended, representing U.S. food and agriculture interests. The delegation also included Charles Kibuchi of Zurcom International (Pty) Ltd, along with key state agriculture members and U.S. suppliers. Highlights included sessions on doing business in Morocco, food trends, and agricultural opportunities. Participants explored retail markets and reconnected with Hamza Badri of LabelVie. As the 2nd largest African market for U.S. agriculture, Morocco offers a stable economy, growing demand, and new opportunities for exporters.
