Recently, thanks to #GiZ, I and Santosh Gupta had the privilege of collaborating with brilliant minds from leading #FPOs, #Vodafone foundation, #Wadhwani foundation, #Syngenta, impactful #NGOs, and #innovative companies like #Vikasana, #Jayanti Herbs and Spices, #Krishify, #Krishimitra, #WRMS, #DigitalGreen, #Vestergen, #IFFCO Kisan, #Solidaridad and Govt Functionaries, to brainstorm and design a cutting-edge, #tech-enabled #agriextension model. Yet, across the globe, much of our soil remains 'data dark,' limiting farmers' ability to make informed decisions about sustainable land management. Reliable and affordable soil testing is critical for bridging this gap and ensuring climate-resilient agriculture. I recently had the opportunity to visit ScaNxt, a pioneering B2B climate-smart technology startup revolutionizing the agricultural sector. Led by Rajat Vardhan, the company is committed to empowering farmers through cutting-edge solutions like Bhu-Parikshak, an innovative soil testing device that uses Near-Infrared (NIR) Spectroscopy to provide real-time insights into soil health. ?? Key Takeaways from the Visit: 1?? ScaNxt’s R&D and soil testing labs showcase their commitment to innovation, with the ability to analyze 100–250 soil samples daily. 2?? Their products, made in India, emphasize cost recovery and a high return rate, offering accessible solutions to farmers globally. 3?? Through collaborations like UNESCAP and IBEN-Inclusive Business Ecosystem Network, they’re working on global positioning and creating visibility for their impactful work. The visit left me inspired by ScaNxt dedication to empowering farmers with IoT-driven solutions, such as pest detection systems and a unified global interface for data-driven farming. ??
