Today, on March 18, we mark Global Recycling Day, which raises awareness of the importance of recycling and its impact on the environment.? It's an international initiative that encourages people to see their trash as an opportunity to save the planet. The intent of the day is to raise awareness of the importance of recycling with your family, friends, and colleagues. You should recycle as much as you can at home and at work. Recycling is a simple and effective way to reduce waste and preserve natural resources. Recycling can save material for the production of new products, such as carpets or fleece clothing. Recycling can also save energy. Prior to thinking of recycling, make conscious consumption choices in the first place. Also be conscientious about avoiding waste. Organizations that undertake R2 Certification, make a sizable contribution to improving the dire situation with solid waste. According to The World Bank, the world generates over 2.01 billion tons of municipal solid waste annually, with at least 33% of that not managed in an environmentally safe manner. The circular economy aims to reduce this dramatically. According to the UN Environment Programme, "Municipal solid waste generation is predicted to grow from 2.1 billion tonnes in 2023 to 3.8 billion tonnes by 2050. In 2020, the global direct cost of waste management was an estimated USD 252 billion. When factoring in the hidden costs of pollution, poor health and climate change from poor waste disposal practices, the cost rises to USD 361 billion.
