    Nineteen years. It’s hard to put into words what this milestone means to me. When I started IA in 2006, it was just an idea – a hope that we could make a difference in how organizations support and empower their people during periods of transformative change. Over this time, I’ve been humbled to work alongside some of the most brilliant and compassionate people in the industry. To our wonderful clients, you have trusted us with your greatest challenges, and together, we’ve navigated through change, uncertainty, and growth with intelligence, grace, humor, and a deeply human connection. To the incredible IA team, you are the head and the heart, and your passion, expertise, and unwavering commitment continues to inspire me daily. And let’s not forget the providers, analysts, influencers, and industry colleagues, all of whom have impacted this journey for nearly two decades. While today offers a moment to reflect and celebrate, I recognize that our work is far from complete. Challenges are emerging faster than ever, and it’s our responsibility to meet those head-on with innovation, collaboration, and courage.     With 2025 budget season wrapping up over the coming days and weeks, one question I get asked quite often is, "How does IA manage to get every single business case approved?" I could share fifty tips and strategies, but the one that ALWAYS factors into the final decision is this --- storytelling. So ask yourself: - Is this story qualitative, quantitative, or both? - Is there a personal or professional experience that each audience member can relate to? - Does the story cause the organization to reflect upon what is stated as the values, mission, vision, or key objectives? - Can I draw a straight line between the story and the professed goals for the near, mid, or long-term? - Does the story include "do nothing", and the implications therein? - Among all the other stories that are competing for attention, resourcing, and funding, why should yours prevail? - Is this the first time the audience is hearing this story, and if so, why? - Can you, the presenter, passionately convey the story in a way that captures the attention of highly distracted leaders?
